Construction Watch: 192 Whitney Place
This Spring, HOCN began rehab on Prospect Avenue. Due to budget constraints, we were unable to complete rehabilitation on 336 Prospect Avenue. It has since been sold to a private developer and restored. We were, however, able to restore 330 Prospect Avenue, a double family home on the corner of Hudson Street.
Now that 330 Prospect Avenue has been rehabbed and sold, HOCN have moved back to Whitney Place to restore a single family home between Maryland and Virginia.
This five bedroom, 2 full bath home will has been under construction for just under a month now, but is moving fast. You may remember back in May 2012 that lead remediation work was done to the porch thanks to our partners in the Lead Poisoning Prevention Work Force Development Project. Since then, we’ve replaced the roof and will be working to restore the porch, update the mechanics, plumbing and gas system, as well as replace old windows and doors. This home comes with beautiful details, including its full front porch, a winding stair case, and a back “mud room” that can be used for storage.
We look forward to completing this rehab this fall and moving in a first-time homebuyer and her family who are already under contract.
