Early Bird Kickball Tournament Registration Ends Friday
Buffalo Rising – April 6th, 2011
At some point, the snow is going to stop falling on the city of Buffalo and we will all be well-overdue for some fun in the sun. Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc. (HOCN) is already looking forward to those days, which will bring their 2nd Annual Kickball Tournament fundraiser.
Although the date of the tournament is not until June 4, the organization is running a special on early bird registration that will be ending this Friday, April 8. Teams who register before this date will be given a reduced rate of $10 per person. Regular registrations will be $15 and there is a ten player minimum for teams.
HOCN promotes this fundraiser as a way to welcome the summer and help work towards revitalizing our local neighborhoods. They welcome organizations, community members and families to join them for this fundraiser. In addition to the tournament, they will be offering all-day activities for kids and families. There will also be side matches for those teams who get knocked out of the tournament bracket. True to summertime traditions, there will be hotdogs, beer and other refreshments for all.
Each player that registers will receive water, two tickets for food, and one beer ticket with their tournament admission. Teams are asked to come up with a team name and wear team uniforms. Interested teams are asked to send their registration by mail to:

Teams can also pay registration fees online with PayPal at donation@hocn.org.
HOCN is also looking for volunteers to help out on game day with refereeing, keeping score, food preparation, field set up and field clean up. The tournament will be held Saturday, June 4 at LaSalle Park at 12 p.m. To find out more information and get team registration forms or volunteer forms, email j.yuhnke@hocn.org.
