The First Niagara Foundation is providing more than $100,000 in grants, aimed at supporting neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing.
One of the two grants, for $58,000, will provide access to affordable housing and financial literacy education. The Foundation will partner with Heart of the City, Local Initiatives Support Corp., Preservation Buffalo Niagara and PUSH Buffalo.
Michael K. Clarke, LISC’s executive director, said First Niagara’s support “helps us provide the consultation, technical assistance and financing that our target neighborhood partners need to be successful.”
The second of the two grants, for $47,500, is designed to enhance affordable housing opportunities, improve financial stability and provide homebuyer education in Western New York.
“First Niagara is committed to making sure that Buffalo’s renaissance is evident in all neighborhoods,” said Buford Sears, First Niagara regional president for Western New York.
The foundation is partnering with four other organizations: Belmont Housing Resources, Black Rock Neighborhood Housing Services, Niagara Falls Neighborhood Housing Services, and West Side Neighborhood Housing Services.
