Rental and Mortgage Assistance Now Available in Erie County
Erie County and the City of Buffalo have partnered to provide rental and mortgage assistance to at-risk Erie County residents who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is provided through Live Well Erie County, Erie County CARES Act, and the City of Buffalo CARES Act Emergency Solutions Grant for COVID-19 Relief.
The program opens today; Thursday, October 1st, 2020. To apply, please call 211 or apply online here (select ‘Register’ to begin.) Applications will be accepted throughout the month of October and into November.
Are you an Erie County resident who is behind on rent or mortgage payments because of COVID-19?
- Have you experienced loss of income due to COVID-19?
- Has someone in your household been ill with COVID-19?
If you answered yes to either of these questions and if your household income is less than 85% of State Median Income (see table below), then you may be eligible for past due rent or mortgage payment assistance. Review the requirements for applications here.
