Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc. has been awarded a $300,000 grant through New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s (HCR) Buffalo Main Streets Initiative (BMSI). This grant allows us to assist the owners of commercial and mixed-use properties located on Niagara Street in Buffalo’s Lower West Side with significant building renovation and façade restoration projects. Heart of the City Neighborhoods is assembling a list of general and specialized contractors interested in receiving bid opportunities to work with property owners on building renovations under BMSI. Projects will range in cost from $25,000-75,000 and will include anything from window installation, HVAC installation, awnings and lighting, exterior historic preservation and façade renovations, as well as other building code improvements such as fire doors and smoke and CO detector installation.
